GDB
SCENARIO
The two most important
protocols in the Transport Layer are Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and
User Datagram Protocol (UDP). TCP provides a reliable data delivery service
with end-to-end error detection and correction. UDP provides a low-overhead,
connectionless datagram delivery service. Suppose as a network administrator,
you are required to select the most suitable transport layer protocol for a
video streaming website then which protocol you will choose from UDP and TCP.
Discuss your choice with proper reasons.

SOLUTION:
According to GDB
Question, I will choose UDP (User Datagram Protocol) due to the following
reasons.
·
UDP is considered an unreliable delivery
protocol because it does not check for errors.
·
It does not need to retransmit lost
packets.
·
Multicast applications are on top of UDP.
·
It uses a small packet size with a small
header.
·
It does not require a connection to be
established and maintained.
·
UDP is the simplest Transport Layer
Communication Protocol available in the TCP/IP protocol suite. It involves the
minimum amount of communication.
·
UDP is the suitable protocol for streaming
applications such as Voice over IP(VoIP), Multimedia Streaming,
Videoconferencing, broadcast, unicast.
·
UDP faster but not guaranteed transfers.
·
TCP slower but more reliable transfers.
·
TCP applications File Transfer Protocol
(FTP), Web Browsing, Email.
