QUESTION:
We are observing wasted heat in everyday life for
example in Pakistan heavy generated is installed, during their supply of
electricity an excessive amount of wasted head is produced in its surrounding,
similarly, when we drive a vehicle heat is available in the surrounding of the
engine of that vehicle, we can see many more such examples of wastage of heat.
this heat is affecting the environment of Pakistan badly.
Is it conceivable to convert this wasted heat into
some useful work/energy/electricity or not, if yes
how? if not why?

SOLUTION:
Yes, it is possible to convert wasted heat into useful
energy or electricity using a device called a thermoelectric generator (TEG) or
a thermos generator. These devices work by converting temperature differences
into electrical energy. They can be used to recover wasted heat from a variety
of sources, such as industrial processes, vehicles, and power plants.
One way to use this technology is to install TEGs on
the exhaust system of vehicles to convert the heat from the exhaust into
electricity. Another way is to use TEGs in power plants to capture wasted heat
from the cooling systems and convert it into electricity.
The efficiency of a thermoelectric generator depends
on the materials used, the temperature difference, and the design of the
system. However, in general, the efficiency is relatively low, typically around
5-7%. Therefore, the application of this technology is typically limited to
situations where the heat source is readily available and inexpensive.
Waste heat recovery systems are environmentally
friendly as they reduce the amount of fossil fuels needed to generate
electricity, leading to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
