Question No.1

Suppose a Bank in Karachi (Head office) is using video conferencing technology to establish employees interaction with another branch (Branch LRO) in Lahore. The video conferencing is conducted between two end devices through the internet. The network administrator of Head office branch configures the end device with the IP address 207.156.202.11. The administrator sends a request for the IP address of the end device in Branch LRO and the response is 192.168.30.12. Neither Branch is using a VPN. Furthermore in future, the administration has planned to upgrade and extend the network to remove and overcome the future problems that may occur in network.

By keeping in view the above scenario, answer the following questions in the provided table:

1.        Network administrator in a Head office is upgrading the local network within the building. Network cabling is required to connect office computers and networking devices. Which cost effective wired network medium should be used in this case?

2.        Network administrator is extending the network from the head office building over several hundred meters to a new security station. The security station needs a high speed connection to support video surveillance of the head office building. What type of cable is best suited to connect the security station to the rest of the head office network?

3.        Suppose  in a Head office  LAN, network administrator investigates an employee’s problem. The employee can reach hosts on the same network, but is unable to communicate to remote networks. The network administrator tries to ping the gateway address configured on the host device and is unsuccessful. Identify which address is incorrect or wrongly configured due to which this problem occurs.

4.        Mr. Ali works as a Zonal manger in Branch LRO. Most of his time is spent making different branch visits to investigate the working environment and employees. However, he requires internet access to maintain his investigation report and establish video conferencing with a head office, when needed. What secure type of network will be used for this purpose?

5.        The employee can reach hosts on the same network, but is unable to communicate to remote branch networks. Which networking device make them enable to communicate with remote branch networks?

6.        The employee can reach hosts on the same network successfully, so which type of addressing will be used for making successful communication on same network?

7.        Network administrator at head office has purchased several networking devices for developing the branch’s computer network. You are required to identify which specific intelligent networking device will be used to connect all computers with each other at first floor of head office.

Following diagram is given for LAN of Lahore branch.Suppose source Host wants to send data on IP address 192.168.100.255 as shown in given diagram so, which device will receive this data.

Solution:

 

192.168.100.1/24 will receive the data.

Task-3:

Following diagram is given for two Local Area Networks of head office.You are required to choose the correct network address from given list that will be used for  LAN-1 and LAN-2.

172.16.0.0/24

172.16.1.0/24

172.16.1.1/24

172.16.1.2/24

172.16.1.3/24

 

Solution:

For LAN1,  172.16.0.0/24 will be used and for LAN2, 172.16.1.0 /24 will used
